Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 20, 2026

At Chappie ("we," "us," or "our"), your privacy is fundamental to everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and handle your information when you use the Chappie platform, including our website at mychappie.com, web application at v2.mychappie.com, iOS application, and related services (the "Service").

1. Our Privacy Commitment

Chappie is built for the military community with an OPSEC-aware, privacy-first mindset. We believe your data belongs to you. We designed the Service with these principles:

  • Your data stays yours. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • Real deletion. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed — not soft-deleted or archived.
  • Minimal collection. We only collect what is necessary to provide and improve the Service.
  • OPSEC awareness. Chappie will never encourage or solicit classified or operationally sensitive information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: Email address and password when you create an account
  • Profile and onboarding data: Values, goals, preferences, and other information you share during onboarding and conversations
  • Conversations: Messages you send to and receive from Chappie
  • Memories: Information Chappie retains from your conversations to provide personalized, context-aware assistance (encrypted at rest)
  • Notes: Notes you create within the Service (encrypted at rest)
  • Action items: Tasks and goals you create or that Chappie generates from your conversations
  • Payment information: If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers.

2.2 Information from Connected Services

  • Google Calendar (optional): If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, Chappie accesses your calendar events in read-only mode. We never write to, modify, or delete your calendar events. Calendar data is used solely to provide time analysis and calendar-aware check-ins.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage data: How you interact with the Service (features used, session duration, etc.)
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, browser type
  • Log data: IP address, access times, error logs

3. Voice Data

Voice recordings are transcribed and immediately discarded. We do not store audio recordings of your voice conversations. Only the text transcription is retained as part of your conversation history. This is a core privacy guarantee of the Service.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Personalize your experience through persistent memory and context-aware conversations
  • Generate and manage action items, notes, and purpose statements
  • Send proactive check-ins and push notifications (when enabled)
  • Analyze your calendar data to provide time-use insights (when connected)
  • Surface relevant military and veteran resources during conversations
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send important service-related communications
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues

5. Data Encryption and Security

  • Encryption at rest: Sensitive data including memories and notes are encrypted at rest
  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted via TLS/SSL
  • Access controls: Strict internal access controls limit who can access user data
  • Recovery codes: Account recovery is available through recovery codes — keep them safe

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and safeguard your recovery codes.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share limited information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: Trusted third parties that help us operate the Service (hosting, payment processing, AI model providers) under strict contractual obligations
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, legal process, or government request
  • Safety: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to users

7. AI Model and Data Training

Your conversations and personal data are not used to train general-purpose AI models. Your data is used solely to provide you with personalized service through Chappie's memory and context systems.

8. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, Chappie may send you proactive check-ins, due date reminders, and calendar-aware alerts. You can configure notification frequency, quiet hours, and disable notifications entirely at any time through the Service settings.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Active accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active to provide the Service
  • Account deletion: When you delete your account, all personal data — including conversations, memories, notes, action items, and profile information — is permanently and irreversibly deleted
  • No soft deletes: We perform hard deletes. Your data is not archived or retained after deletion

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in the Service
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Disconnect integrated services (e.g., Google Calendar) at any time
  • Opt out of push notifications and proactive check-ins
  • Export your data — contact us for a data export request

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.

12. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to external resources (VA websites, crisis services, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at info@mychappie.com.
